Special Operations Memorial Day 5k Run

Time: Convocation 7:30AM, race start 8:00AM

Memorial Day is the occasion to celebrate and commemorate America’s warriors.  The Baltimore City Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3, the Baltimore City Fire Department Fire Fighters IAFF Local 734 and the Baltimore City Fire Officers IAFF Local 964 together with Boston Street Running will be sponsoring the third annual Special Operations Memorial Day 5K Run to honor our warriors and provide direct financial support to the surviving families of one of  America’s elite fighting forces; the US Navy SEALs.  All proceeds from registration/entry fees to this event will be donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation (http://www.navysealfoundation.org).

Entry Fees: $30 until 24 May, $35 on race day, 25 May.

The event will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are non-refundable.

Course Information:

The 5K run will be a fast out-and-back starting and finishing at Boston Street Running, 2700 block of Boston Street.  The race will head East along Boston Street to S. Clinton Street, turn right and head South along S. Clinton Street to the turn-a-round point.  The race course will offer a unique vantage point from which to experience Baltimore City and it’s maritime and industrial sector as the course travels through the Canton Port District with scenic views of Ft. McHenry, the John Brown, the City skyline and the harbor.

1st, 2nd and 3rd overall Active/Non-Active Duty Military

1st, 2nd and 3rd overall First Responder (Police, Fire & EMS)

First Responder Perpetual Trophy (highest scoring first responder category)

1st Male & Female 14 & Under

1st Male & Female 15-19

1st Male & Female 20-29

1st Male & Female 30-39

1st Male & Female 40-49

1st Male & Female Masters (Age 50-59)

1st Male & Female Grand Masters (Age 60+)


The first 500 registered participants will be guaranteed to receive a premium custom designed technical T-shirt with the race logo and sponsors.


Course Support:

Water and electrolyte replacement will be available at the halfway point. Police and course marshals will direct racers at major turns. The course will be clearly marked.

Post Race Events:

The awards ceremony will take place shortly after race’s end, along with music, refreshments, fresh baked goods and fruit. Mission BBQ will provide post-race food, including their famous BBQ sliders.

Packet Pick Up:

Packets will be available for pick up from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 May at Boston Street Running and also on race day from 6:00 AM – 7:25 AM at the start/finish area.
